Need: A proposed Ordinance amending the Land Development Regulations’

Schedule H by adding 1.16 Scrap Metal Processing Plant Uses to amortize

Scrap Metal Processing Plant Uses within the proposed CRA Expansion Area

encompassing NW 31 st Avenue within five (5) years from the adoption date of this

Ordinance.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background: Staff has identified a need to amortize Scrap

Metal Processing Plant Uses along Martin Luther King Blvd/ NW 31 st Ave as they

are not compatible with the City of Lauderhill’s Comprehensive Plan, Proposed

SE CRA Expansion’s Uses, and have been deemed a heath/safety risk to the

abutting community.

Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact: The Division finds the implementation of this

Resolution may not require a budget allocation or expenditure of City funds and

concludes it may not have any direct fiscal impact on the City’s budget.
