Request Action:
The Police Department requests approval from the City Commission to utilize the Federal LEFF in an amount not to exceed $291,000.00 to purchase items needed for the Police Department to continue to function efficiently.
Need:
The Lauderhill Police Department is in need of twenty-seven laptop computers, FARO Crime Scene Mapping technology, Module furniture for the Criminal Investigation Division, and Stop the Bleed Field Trauma Kits. The expenditure of Federal LEFF in an amount not to exceed $291,000.00 will enable the Police department to provide a higher level of service to our citizens with increased efficiency.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Lauderhill Police Department is in need of laptop computers to augment laptops that is being utilized by road patrol officers in the field. FARO Crime Scene Mapping technology is to replace the current software and equipment which has become outdated and obsolete. The module furniture is needed to revamp the Criminal Investigation Division to include more desks for the increase in staff. The new furniture will provide fifteen workstations. The Stop the Bleed, Field Trauma Kits is necessary lifesaving equipment that the officers and police service aides can utilize in the field.
