A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Lauderhill approving the creation of the new position of Parks and Recreation Deputy Director; Approving the job description for Parks and Recreation Deputy Director; Providing for an effective date.

 

Need:

Why is there a need for this action?

The position is needed to ensure smooth implementation of the organization's business management, providing program guidance, supervising staff, writing proposals and reports, and providing support to the Department Director.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

Provide a summary/background of this agenda request.

The longstanding Parks and Recreation Director recently retired.  This new position will assist the Department with the transition of responsibilities and  support the direction of the Department in the accreditation process, park maintenance, daily operations, programming, customer service, and staff development and oversight.

The position will be Confidential assigned to Grade 64 with a salary range ($102,700 - $106,808 - $111,081).  The position is a Full -Time position that will replace a Full-Time Assistant Director Positions currently funded within the Parks and Recreation Administration division.
