RESOLUTION NO. 26R-07-110: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA, APPROVING A STAGING AREA LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL AND FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY FOR THE TEMPORARY USE OF THE LAUDERHILL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER PARKING LOT AS AN EMERGENCY STAGING AREA TO SUPPORT STORM RESTORATION AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE OPERATIONS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT AND ANY MINOR NON-SUBSTANTIVE MODIFICATIONS, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL AS TO FORM BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Request Action:
Authorizes FPL to utilize the designated area on an as-needed basis for the staging and deployment of personnel, vehicles, equipment, materials, and other resources necessary to facilitate emergency power restoration efforts.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Agreement serves a valid public purpose by promoting the efficient and timely restoration of electric service to the residents and businesses of the City of Lauderhill and the surrounding region following emergency events; and
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
Upon completion of its use, Licensee shall at its sole cost restore the Staging Area to at least its original condition, reasonable wear and tear excepted
