Request Action: Approval to increase the sending limit previously approved by the City Commission via City of Lauderhill Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Resolution CRA- 25R-11-11 from $29,999.00 for each qualified Tree Trimming/Removal Vendors, piggybacking on the City of Lauderhill Solicitation, to an amount not exceeding $100,000.00; and Approval for the CRA Board to enter into an Agreement with Terrain Services Inc., in an amount not to exceed $100, 000.00, piggybacking the City of Lauderhill solicitation as per CRA Resolution CRA- 25R-11-11.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill ("City") issued Request for Proposals No. 2023-051 to provide citywide tree trimming and/or tree removal services from roadways, swales and medians, etc., on an as-needed basis. The City Commission approved a list of qualified Tree Trimming/Removal Vendors via Resolution No. 23R-08-212. The approved list of qualified vendors in response to City’s Request for Proposals No. 2023-051 are Terrain Services, Inc. and Brightstar Property Maintenance Services Inc.
The City Commission approved the CRA’s request to piggypack on the City of Lauderhill list of qualified Tree Trimming/Removal Vendors, and authorized the CRA to enter into agreements with each vendor for services in an amount not to exceed $29,999.00 for each vendor via Resolution NO. CRA-25R-11-11.
The CRA desires to increase the spending limit to an amount not to exceed $100,000.00 for each vendor for tree trimming/removal services, piggybacking the City’s solicitation No. 2023-051. Specifically, the CRA engaged the services of Terrain Service,for services within the CRA district. To date the vendor has completed work totaling $27,050.00 which is almost at the Director's spending limit. Due to the vendor's satisfactory performance and the continued work needed to complete ongoing and upcoming works, increasing the CRA Director's spending authority will ensure continuity of services and avoid delays associated with a new procurement process.
Cost Summary/ Fiscal Impact:
Work completed to date totals $27,050.00. Currently the Director's spending authority is $29,999; approval of the amount not to exceed $100,000.00 will provide the necessary funding
needed for the continuation of services.
