Summary Explanation/ Background:
The City of Lauderhill entered into a three year contract effective August 2023 to provide for the School Board ot pay for two (2) School Resource Officers. Once SRO at Parkway Middle School and one SRO at Lauderhill 6-12 High School. Shortly after the City of Lauderhill entered into the three year contract which provided for payment in the amount of $103,000 per officer per school year, the City Manager's negotiated with the School Board and were able to get an approved increase in pay. The First Amendment reflects the increased pay rate as well as other additional terms. The monthly cost per SRO for the 2023-224 school year will increase to $10,815.00 per month per officer for 10 months which equals $108,150.00 each for the school year per officer. The 2024-2025 school year rate will increase to $11,355.75 per month per officer for 10 months which equals $113,557.50 for the school year per officer. The 2025-2026 school year rate will increase to $11,923.54 per month per officer for 10 months which equals $119,235.40 for the school year per officer. *This last year is contingent upon the certified taxable value of property in Broward County not dropping by more than 5%.
