The Water Treatment Plant Sludge Dewatering Building contains two (2) Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filter dedicated for the sludge removal process. A resolution requesting the approval of the award to sole source vendor Moss Kelly, Inc./MK Services, to purchase 0ne (1) Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filter for the Water Treatment Plant Sludge Dewatering Building equipment and controls for Water Treatment Plant Lime Slaker#3.
Need:
Why is there a need for this action?
The Water Treatment has a Sludge Dewatering building contains two (2) Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filter dedicated for the sludge drying and removal process. The equipment installed to dry the sludge has reached its live cycle and currently, only one Drum is operational. These Drums are used to treat and dry the sludge byproduct from the City’s water treatment process and includes elements capable of transferring the dry sludge into a truck for corresponding hauling and disposal.

There are currently two (2) existing Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filters in which the Utilitites Department are seeking to replace one Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filters for fiscal year 2019. The Wes Tech Rotary Drum Filters were installed in 2001 and have reached their life expectancy and are critical to the process of producing quality drinking water to residents of the City of Lauderhill.
