RESOLUTION NO. 19R-01-11: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING VARIOUS MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE BY VARIOUS INDIVIDUAL CITY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE TERMS INDICATED; APPOINTING TWO (2) MEMBERS BY THE CITY COMMISSION AS A WHOLE TO SERVE AS ALTERNATE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TWO YEAR TERM EXPIRING NOVEMBER 2020; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, CHARLES FARANDA).

Request Action:
Adopt a Resolution to appoint members to serve on the Public Art Committee.
Need:
To fill positions on the Public Art Committee due to expiration of terms and election of new Commissioners.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The following board member has served on the Public Art Committee and has expressed interest in continuing to serve on the board and the individual commissioner has confirmed their interest in appointing them for the remainder of a term expiring November 2022:
Appointment of Wayne L. Alexander by Mayor Ken Thurston.
The following individuals have expressed interest in serving on the board and the individual commissioners have confirmed their interest in appointing themfor the remainder of a term expiring concurrent with the commissioner's seat:
Appointment of Charlene Bouie by Commissioner Denise D. Grant expiring November 2022.
Appointment of Julian Chamberlain by Commissioner Richard Campbell expiring November 2020.
A seat appointed by the Commission as a whole expired November 2018 which would make it a vacant position, with a second seat previously vacant. The Commission as a Whole must make these two appointments. These appointments are for a two (2) year term which expires November 2020. The following individuals have expressed interest in serving on the board:
