RESOLUTION NO. 19R-01-10: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING VARIOUS MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD BY VARIOUS INDIVIDUAL CITY COMMISSIONERS AS INDICATED FOR THE TERMS INDICATED; APPOINTING ONE MEMBER BY THE CITY COMMISSION AS A WHOLE TO SERVE FOR THE REMAINDER OF A STAGGERED TWO (2) YEAR TERM EXPIRING NOVEMBER 2019; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, CHARLES FARANDA).

Request Action:
Adopt a Resolution to appoint members to serve on the Planning & Zoning Board by individual commissioners and by the Commission as a Whole.
Need:
To fill positions on the Planning & Zoning board due to expiration of terms and election of new Commissioners.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The following board member has served on the Planning & Zoning Board and has expressed interest in continuing to serve on the board and the individual commissioner has confirmed their interest in appointing them for the remainder of a term expiring in November 2022:
Appointment of Rev. Melville B. Herron by Mayor Ken Thurston.
The following individuals have expressed interest in serving on the board and the individual commissioners have confirmed their interest in appointing them for the remainder of a term expiring in November 2022:
Appointment of Chezky Rodal by Commissioner Denise D. Grant.
Commissioner Richard Campbell has an individual appointment for a term concurrent with his commission seat expiring November 2020.
The City Commission as a Whole has an appointment for the remainder of the two (2) year staggered term expiring November 2019.
The term appointed by the Commission as a whole expired November which would make it a vacant position. The Commission as a Whole must make this appointment. This appointment is for a staggered two (2) year term which expires November 2019. The following individuals have expressed interest in serving on the board:
