Request Action:
Requesting approval of the release of State Law Enforcement Trust Funds to donate to the Broward County Human Trafficking Coalition, BHTC which is a non-profit 501c3 organization that promotes education for law enforcement centered on Human Trafficking. BHTC supports and provides important resources to victims of Human Trafficking. The amount requested is $1,000.00 which not to exceed $1,100.
Need Summary Explanation/ Background:
We need these funds to donate to this not for profit organization called, Broward County Human Trafficking Coalition. This organization has been a valued resource to the Lauderhill Police Department for the past several years. This year they will be hosting their annual community awareness event on Saturday, January 24, 2026. They are requesting any financial assistance to offset the costs of this year’s community awareness event. Therefore, we are requesting these funds to be approved and released so that we can give donations to this nonprofit 501c3 organization using funds from the State Law Enforcement Trust Funds. We are also requesting that the Office of Management and Budget place the transfer of these funds on the same Commission Agenda as the requested items to eliminate any delays for processing donations. Funds are needed to help offset the cost of this year’s community awareness event. I am requesting funds to be used from the State Law Enforcement Trust Funds, with account 12002683-509935.
