Request Action:

Need:
To have backup contracts in place for Disaster Debris Removal when necessary in a state of emergency.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
To amend Resolution No. 21R-07-137 to reflect the intent of staff which was to allow the actual award of contract to all three of the top ranked firms as recommended by the Evaluation Committee pursuant to RFP #2021-012 so that backup contracts are available and in place. During a state of emergency often times debris removal companies mobilize and move to different areas and may not be local and available at the time we would need them. Based upon experience, it is prudent to have several contracts in place and available to provide the services when needed during a state of emergency. This resolution awards the contracts to all of the top three ranked firms and authorizes the City Attorney to negotiate contracts with all three of the firms.
