Request Action:
Pass a Resolution to approve the 2019 Amendment to the "Additional" Local Option Gas Tax Interlocal Agreement providing for the cities to receive 26% of the five cent transit gas tax.
Need:
To approve the amendment so that the City of Lauderhill receives its share of the fifth cent additional local option gas tax on motor fuel for transit.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
Each year an Amendment is required to update the University of Florida Bureau of Conomics and Business Research population figures for each city in order to determine the percentage amount of revenue that each city gets allocated from the five (5) cent motor fuel for transit gas tax. This year the population for the City of Lauderhill according to that study has been determined to be 71,751 for the purposes of the calculation of the gas tax. The City of Lauderhill will receive .990796% of the 5 cent motor fuel for transit gas tax.
