RESOLUTION NO. 23R-06-165: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL CREATING THE NEW JOB POSITION OF COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR, WHICH IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION; APPROVING THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE NEW POSITION OF COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE (REQUESTED BY CITY MANAGER, DESORAE GILES-SMITH).

Request Action:

Requesting City Commission approval for the addition of a new job position and job description of Community Services Coordinator to ensure the effectiveness of the Administration Department. This is a grant-funded position.

 

Need:

The Community Services Coordinator will be responsible for leveraging people and resources in communities as assets to make improvements to address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).  This position requires building relationships and trust within the community, facilitating, implementing and evaluation community engagement activities/initiatives, and leading community organization activities that build and mobilize community power, all with the intent to create a pipeline of leadership and engagement. This position will report to the City Manager.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

The new job description is necessary to ensure optimal City operations.
