Request Action:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department is requesting that the City Commission approve the professional services agreement between the City of Lauderhill and GIRLS TOO WOMEN, INC. to provide YOUTH ENRICHMENT EDUCATIONAL AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING CLASSES AND INSTRUCTION SERVICES at the following community centers: WINDERMERE, WEST KEN LARK , ST. GEORGE and SADKIN.
Need:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department has recognized a need for quality and variety of free and low cost YOUTH ENRICHMENT EDUCATIONAL AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING CLASSES AND INSTRUCTION SERVICES to at-risk youth, teens and young adults.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
The Parks and Leisure Services Department as recognized that non-profit organization GIRLS TOO WOMEN, INC. that will provide the City of the following services free and low cost classes, training and programming to at-risk community youth, teens and young adults in underserved neighborhoods within the City. Amena Threets is the contact for the organization. In past years, GIRLS TOO WOMEN, INC. has offered programming to hundreds of at-risk youth through the City Parks Department.
