RESOLUTION NO. 24R-08-162: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY BOARD BY THE COMMISSION AS A WHOLE FOR THE REMAINDER OF A FOUR (4) YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 2028 TO FILL VACANT POSITIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Request Action:

Adopt a Resolution appointing members to serve on the Local Affordable Housing Advisory Board by the Commission as a Whole, for the remainder of a four (4) year term, expiring June 2028

 

Need Summary Explanation/ Background:

The board must consist of one representative from at least six (6) of the eleven (11) categories listed, as outlined in Florida Statute 420.9076. If at least six (6) of eleven (11) categories are currently filled, two members may hold a position in the same category. Currently, the City Clerk’s Office has the following applications on file from individuals meeting the listed criteria:

 

Miguelaille Pierre, a citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.

Natasha Britton, a citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage industry in connection with affordable housing.

Joseph Singh, a citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing.

 

The City Clerk’s Office has also been advised that the following individual, as current members of the Planning & Zoning Board, is interested in being considered for reappointment. (This individuals would satisfy criteria (h) A citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency pursuant to s. 163.3174. If the local planning agency is comprised of the governing board of the county or municipality, the governing board may appoint a designee who is knowledgeable in the local planning process.):

 

Kelvin Haynes, a citizen who actively serves on the local planning agency pursuant to s. 163.3174

$50.00 per meeting attended
