Request Action:
The approval of a resolution authorizing the execution of two (2) Commercial Facade Grant applications.
Need:
The Commercial Facade Program ("Program") was established in 2017 with the primary goal of encouraging property owners and businesses to improve the exterior appearance of their buildings.
Summary Explanation/ Background:
This inducement promotes the City's new Design Guidelines while maintaining vibrancy, stimulating economic growth, and complimenting other revitalization efforts and public infrastructure improvements. The project helps accomplish the district goals of unified architectural design and the creation of a district identity through Design Standards. The Project mandates the incorporation of the City of Lauderhill's Architectural DesignGuidelines (LDR- Schedule P) into all awarded projects within the State Road 7 CRA and 38th Avenue Entertainment District. These Architectural Guidelines will distinguish 38th Avenue into a desirable Entertainment District promoting Tropical Modern Architectural Elements in order to create Place Identity and increase Pedestrian traffic.
