Request Action:

A resolution is required from the city commission to approve the 1st substantial amendment to the City of Lauderhill 2020-2024 Five-Year Consolidated Plan to add an additional priority need and activity goal to the current plan.

 

Need:

Action is required to amend the City’s approved plan to change its allocation priorities and carry out an activity not described in the action plan. The City will add a priority need and goal not initially included in the original plan through this action. The move will consist of an affordable housing preservation priority need.

 

Summary Explanation/ Background:

Notice is hereby given of the City of Lauderhill’s proposal to amend its 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan. The FY 2024-2025 First Substantial Amendment to the City’s Annual Action Plan by reallocating the amount of $227,881.00 in HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program funding to carry out an activity to assist very low-income and low-income households through the Purchase Assistance Program.

On or around February 23rd, 2026, the City of Lauderhill intends to submit its substantial amendment to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for its 5-Year FY 2020-2024 Consolidation Plan regarding its newly incorporated priority need and goal.

The City of Lauderhill will incorporate a priority need and goal to the strategic plan. The activities that will take place under this new goal will be first-time homebuyer down payment assistance.
