Request Action:
Amend Code of Ordinances Section 2-159 and 2-163 to update the order of business to provide a cut off time for proclamations, commendations and presentations to require legislative items to be started no later than 7:30 p.m. and then resume any remaining proclamations, commendations or presentations. Also to amend the debate and decorum sections to provide a 10 minute time limitation for proclamations/commendations and a 15 minutes time limitation for presentations.

Need:
To amend the code to update the order of business and debate and decorum provisions.

Summary Explanation/ Background:
Amend Code of Ordinances Section 2-159 and 2-163 to update the order of business to provide a cut off time for proclamations, commendations and presentations to require legislative items to be started no later than 7:30 p.m. and then resume any remaining proclamations, commendations or presentations. Also to amend the debate and decorum sections to provide a 10 minute time limitation for proclamations/commendations and a 15 minutes time limitation for presentations. Also provide if any commissioner wants to change the order of business, they may make a motion to do so which must pass by a majority of the members present.
